Week 3 April 6-12, 2020

  1. You will notice that I have changed the way the assignments are presented. First, is a list of assignments for the week. Second, is a suggested way to complete them day by day. Last, is a list of optional assignments.
  2. MATH ZOOM MEETING: I will be having a zoom meeting for math review on Monday, April 6, 2020, at 2 pm and then again after the normal Zoom meeting on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at 3:30 pm. for those that need help with math. If your child is one of the ones that need this additional time please let me know if they will be able to attend. All others can attend but this zoom meeting will focus only on math. See the classroom for the link.
  3. The class Zoom meeting will be at 3 pm on April 8, 2020. See the classroom for the link.
  4. We will be switching from Classdojo to a new way of communicating using a system called Remind. I will be sending out instructions on how to join the class using Remind starting Monday. I think it is a great system and will make communication between us much better.
  5. Remember we will not have school on Friday, April 10, 2020, and Monday, April 13, 2020.

  3. Reread Volcanoes by Seymour Simon. (My View) (pg. 470-483)
  4. Complete U5W2 Check for Understanding Volcanoes (Google classroom)
  5. Take the AR Quiz on This will be done in Star Reading. See Google classroom for directions. (Star Reading)

Writing

  1. Write a paragraph, 5-7 sentences, using text evidence to answer the question “In what ways do volcanoes impact Earth? (Google Classroom)

  1. Watch the video “Line Plot” and complete practice problems. (Google Classroom)
  2. Log on to Study Island and complete a Blue Ribbon for 5.f. Line Plots. (Study Island)
  3. Watch the Video “Measurement” and complete practice problems. (Google Classroom)
  4. Log on to Study Island and complete a Blue Ribbon for 5.a Unit of Measurement. (Study Island)

As always, your child is encouraged to access Reflex and work on math fact fluency in multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction. Go to the school web site to get the link for this.
